Health Care Reform Bill & States Adoption Efforts
Update on the implementation of the health care reform at the state level
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (http://dpc.senate.gov/dpcdoc-sen_health_care_bill.cfm), passed in 2010, required individuals who did not previously have health care to obtain health care. When the Act passed, Attorney Generals in 25 states tried to nullify the bill declaring the Act unconstitutional. Recently, the state legislatures are rejecting the earlier attempts at nullification.
